Shriya Saran was born in Dehradun on 11th September 1982. Her father Pushpendra Saran working in Bharat Heavy Metal Works and Her mother Neeraja, a school teacher. She has an old brother Abhiroop. She studied at the Delhi Public School and acquired B.A in Literature from Lady Sri Ram College. She is also a Kathak Dancer and trained under Shobha Narayan. She started her carrier as a model and appeared in many commercials like Lux, Head & Shoulders. Shriya's first movie debut was with a Telugu movie Istham in the year 2001. She was noticed by the film Industry even though the movie was not succeeded. After that she did a film Santhosham with Nagarjuna, which did extremely well. Now she is the top actress in the Telugu, Tamil film Industry.
