Hey its Guidi again,
I too have had that un-even focus problem. The photo was in focus on the right and out of focus on the left. Very wierd. Nikon told me it was a depth of field problem but both subjects were standing exactly at the same distance from the camera.

The large drop in competitiveness (is that a word?) in the U.S. is largely attributed to the immigrant population posting to message boards during work hours!
So true. If the retrogression was not there, people will spend their time on other constructive issues.

Yes, it was amazing effort.
I am glad that I was a part of it.
Thanks to everyone who came and to everyone who wholeheartedly supported the rally though they were not able to attend.

I had my I140 approved too and had mentioned it in my application. They dont bother you. They however gave me 221g to verify student status and delayed my visa for two weeks. Interview was less than 2 mins and the vo said she had to verify student status thats it.
Please explain what is student status and 221g. You mean , if you are student of any intitute in US, while your I-140 is approved?

Gurus,
Im bachelor. Im planning to get married in another 6 months. Should I apply for I-485? If I should, can I add my spouse later to the I-485 application before I-485 is approved and priority date is not current.
Here is one of my friend in the similar situation planning to do. He is filing 485 without any medical exam. Certainly, he is going to get query and after query you have 40 days (double check this number) to reply. So, he'll get some time to go and do wife hunting.

USCIS has known to send straight denials even though they are supposed to send NOID when an employer revokes 140. There are many examples where people sent in ac21 or not.
However; in just about every case it eventually got reopened. In the mean time there are many anxious moments while waiting for uscis to reopen the case (can't get ead renewed/ if outside the country wouldn't be allowed back on AP).
USCIS sometimes takes their time reopening the case (upto 7 or 8 months). If you don't have h-1b then there is no legal basis to stay here while waiting for the case to reopen. Can't work, etc. However; if you overstay by six months and they don't reopen the case then the 3 and 10 year bars will kick in and you can kick the greencard away.
Key thing is whether employer revokes 140. If they do then it causes anxious moments. USCIS has also started to revoke approved I-140's on their own when companies respond to rfe's on other candidates 140's (ie., ability to pay for all people together). If uscis revokes it on their own then ac21 does not protect you at all.
I think we are confusing multiple issues here. Once the 6 month period is over where the I-140 is approved and the I-485 is pending for 180 days it does NOT matter if the employer revokes the I-140 or not. You are good to go! (Unless ur a classified terrorist or a criminal).
The only question is, Can you still get a 3 year extention based on a I-140 that is revoked? I am thinking that may be an issue. In that scenario, you would be forced to play the EAD card.

ok so when would EB2 come back to its old status of Jan 2003(it was so for past 1.5 yrs atleast b4 jumping to june 2004 and again retogating)...would it be in this current fiscal yr..i.e b4 sept 2008 or it will take whole of nxt fiscal yr to come to that kind of dates?
I believe once it gets past Jan 2003 PD's, dates will move steadily.

past performance is not always a good indicator of future one.All strong organization are build by converting perceived distracters into strong supporters.
I agree, support from any org or forum is good for our cause and would definitely broden our support base.
I have seen couple of postings from 'gc_2010', they sound negative, it is better to ingnore them rather then taking pains to clarrify those postings.

I have sent the following email to Mr. Tytler.
Although I am not sure how Mr. Tytler would react, I thought, it doesn't hurt to try.
Unfortunately, I do not know any one in the political circles in India. May be members hailing from the New Delhi area could help garner support.
************************************************** *******
Dear Mr. Jagadish Tytler,
I am writing to you from the Seattle area in Washington state of the United States, on behalf of the NRI community in the USA. In December 2005, a group of professionals comprising of software engineers, physicians and the like have started a forum called Immigration Voice that strives for improvements in the outdated and restrictive US Immigration laws that is impacting the NRI community.
Sir, You are very well aware of the contribution in terms of the foreign exchange and investments NRIs bring about in India. I am writing this email to you to make you aware of the efforts of this group, numbering over 1000 members, which is working with Senators and Representatives of the United States.
The website is located at http://www.immigrationvoice.org
The group has solicited contributions from members, and has currently signed up Quinn Gillespie and Associates, a public affairs firm which will lobby our interests with the Senators and Representatives.
We would like to invite you to participate in our efforts, and help us in bringing about greater awareness at a political leadership level.
Thanking you,

People do not buy house to sell it. They buy it so that they can live for a long time. And when you do not know how long you are going to stay in this country(because of immigration issues) then why would they buy. There is something called closing cost, who will pay them if you have to sell?
Yes Sir, very true: "People do not buy house to sell it". I am not suggesting that you buy a house and sell it, I am suggesting that in case you plan on buying the house .. don't get intimidated by the bad immigration experience of few folks. My point is that in worst case scenario, if you have to go back to India (which is less than 1% chance), there are ways to deal with house situation.
